With support from professors and students of Illinois State University and experts of different enterprises, ECSA has organized many successful seminars and lectures in 2008. A lot of students showed their interests on the topics covered in the seminars and lectures, and those seminars and lectures encouraged students to learn more about Enterprise Computing Systems. In 2009, ECSA will keep on organizing similar seminars and lectures through which students can catch up the newest knowledge and information about Enterprise Computing System. In addition, ECSA is planning to organize other activities which can help students enhance their technical skills and build their future career.
Data Center Visit
Data center visit will be valuable for students. The ECSA will arrange trips to visit data centers at different enterprises. The visitors can view the efficiency of the running Enterprise Computing Systems, system architecture setup, design of system security, and network flow as well as the business strategy.
Resume Posting Site
ECSA will work with other companies to build a resume posting site where students have skills and interests on Enterprise Computing System can post their resumes. Hiring companies may search for their candidates on this site when they have open positions in Enterprise Computing System area. This will benefit both students who want to find internships or full time jobs about Enterprise Computing System and employers who are looking for candidates with skillsets they require. Resume posting site may also have a career discussion forum where students can exchange information about resume critiques, interview tips, employment opportunities and career development with human resources/recruiters and/or senior technicians.
Group Study and Hands-on Exercise
ECSA is planning to form a Enterprise Computing System Study Group for students. The purpose of this study group is helping students enhance their technical skills and gain hands-on experience with Enterprise Computing System. Group will meet about once a week and discuss interesting technical topics with ITK professors and/or ISU Enterprise Computing System engineers. Students can also have hands-on exercises and group projects on real Enterprise Computing System which will be valuable experience for their future careers.
